Welcome to the Weekend of Racing! On Labor Day weekend you are invited to
participate in one of three ultra races that will be held Saturday, September 5,
2009.
The Buffalo Bill Stampede is a six hour road race. We are in the process if
deciding which combinations of loops will work best for both the competitors and
organizers.
Best of class in this event will undoubtedly break the 100 mile mark, and given
good riding conditions, the winners could set some records!
The Dawn to Dusk ride is a 12 hour race that includes some of the best regional
and national riders in ultracycling. Participants will complete at least one lap of the
long loop before switching to the 19 mile loop for
most of the 12 hours, then move to the eight mile loop to finish up just before sundown Saturday!
Finally, the 24 Hour Challenge is a UltraMarathon Cycling Association UltraCup
Points ride and a RAAM Qualifier. This is a time trial and drafting is not
permitted.
All Courses are well-marked, paved county roads that avoid heavily trafficked
routes as much as possible. The event takes place at a junior high school with a
large parking lot and access to the lunch room, rest rooms and showers. We
provide a variety of refreshments including fruit, soup and drinks and a good
selection of Hammer Nutrition Products - our premier sponsor!
And make sure you sign up for the Friday night pasta dinner held in the
registration room at the Comfort Inn!
